Bless The Broken Road

Broken Road

The moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good. Romans 8:28Today I had the chance to think back with a friend of mine on what our lives might be like if we had not met Jesus in a personal way.  We speculated and talked but in the end we are both grateful that our life path was blessed by God through Jesus His Son.  Although the lyrics below were written to another human being they describe how my friend and I feel about our lives BC (before Christ).

I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn’t see how every sign pointed straight to you
Every long lost dream lead me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent just passing through
I’d like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You’ve been there you understand
It’s all part of a grander plan that is coming true

Every long lost dream lead me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That led me straight to you

HE truly has blessed my broken road! I stand thankful for every inch that I have traveled. Never nothing stays the same, I am not content to stay where I am, but I have learned how to be content for as long as I am here. Bless U, look forward to the next time ;-)
